It’s just not Christmas without squeaky toys!

I got to like this strip because of the beautiful way Red communicates with his best friend, his dog. I wish something could be done to make the lifespan of our canine friends as long as ours. Sadly, Red will still be a young man when Rover passes on.

You’d be sad too, if you were wearing what he was made to wear.

When my wife had cats, our vet emphasized “if they are still eating, they still have a life.” We took one in and said, “he stopped eating.” She gave him a full examination, said, “It’s time” and got the hypo. When she got no heartbeat, she simply pulled the blanket over. Those who took care of their animals (and this included livestock) were never charged for this.

My mom still rues the Christmas my brother was given all electronic toys and they forgot the batteries. That was when the “blue laws” still existed. He lived through it w/o years of therapy.
