Not surprising, this is the same company that would rather close stores than pay a living wage.

They even screw over those who try to provide contract services to them, as a friend found out, he told them to stuff it after a few weeks of them trying to give him the shaft on terms and payment.

There are a couple items they provide as generic product under their brand, but that’s all I will buy there. COSTCO, while membership, treats their employees fairly, has matching or lower prices, and their “house brand” products are of superior quality. Living a long way from either store however, it’s typically only a twice a year visit to either, but even at that, usually “save” enough to make the membership fee there worth it (and that’s a significant portion of COSTCO’s profit!)

You might be surprised. Some liberals understand it far better than some conservatives. As it is not a political philosophy, but rather a monetary system, neither political bent can truly claim superior knowledge.

And it is dangerous to believe in sweeping generalities. The exceptions to those rules may also surprise you.

Conservatives need to learn the difference between “free markets” and “corporate monopolies”. Teddy Roosevelt knew the difference, and cracked down on the trusts, even though a Republican.

Masterskrain: that friend I mentioned earlier lives in Arkansas for some time now, originally from Texas. He mentioned when talking about telling the “new Wal Mart” folks to “stuff it”, that he too had heard similar stories from his folks about “old Sam”. The current family reflects “inherited wealth and position”, just like Trump, the Koch brothers, and a number of other “right of the right” wealthy “conservatives”, who actually AREN’T! Monopoly is NOT a true conservative value, be it government, OR corporate!

Walmart under Walton not only sold U.S. made goods, it promoted the fact. I recall an aisle of various products by the front door with a large “Made in the USA” banner overhead. One of the reasons it is so hard to find U.S made products in Walmart these days is that the company pressures its suppliers to move their manufacturing overseas to cut costs. The savings would be expected to be passed on to Walmart.

And exactly what position does Walmart pay $17 per hour? How much per hour do they pay their cashiers and stock persons?
