She is not alone in her beliefs, nor in her apparent joy that the end times could occur. There are people at the church I attend who pray for those end times to happen, certain the trumpets will blow and they will be lifted into the heavens.There have been a number of times in history where people thought that was to happen… it didn’t.The most frightening thing is the number of people who believe that God/Allah/Yahweh/Shiva etc etc want THEM to help make “Armageddon” happen. Some of them I can understand, they are uneducated, hopeless that life will improve for them, and the best thing that could happen is an “honorable death” in the “Name of God”.Since I believe in Jesus’s message of love, and Mohammed’s similar message of compassion, it is hard for me to understand those who “hate in the name of God”.Knowing the atheists shake their heads sadly when they read this, I do have questions for people who consider themselves believers/the faithful…. does God value money over people? Does God value money over animals and plants? Does God want us to kill in his name?My answer to all of these questions would be “No”. What’s yours?Respectfully,C.

Are the people from Bachmann’s district that evidently keep on placing this character beck into Congress, all brain-dead or what? Among all the other crazies in Congress, she has got to be way up there towards number one. I know that is a bit on the harsh side, but when you see the idiotic and insane things that she says, then reasonable persons (conservative or liberal) with any degree of intelligence and education has to be completely flummoxed by her!!

Respectful Troll: I have checked concordances for several translations of the Bible and I can’t find “rapture” in any of them. Someone is messing with scripture. I do find a reference in Amos that it will be like running from a lion and encountering a bear, or resting against a wall and getting snakebit. And the very best of sources tells us that no one knows when it will happen, but self-ordained “clergy” get rich telling suckers they alone know when and how it will be.

RT: it’s the “evangelical” bent, posturing, and language of not just Cruz, but Rand Paul and others, proclaiming “war on Christianity” in America that is scary! Article Six and the First Amendment were statements the founding fathers, quite sensibly, didn’t TRUST religious nuts, theocracy, nor did they oppose religious “faith” as long as it didn’t harm others, OR become an element of the government of the United States.

Just watching Cruz’s posturing at the podium, and how his “public speaking form” mimics so many evangelists, especially those with the mega-churches and TV programs. Unlike Bachmann, he’s well-orchestrated at least, not JUST nuts.

Night-Gaunt49: Indeed, but I find this unscriptural use the only place where anyone considers them synonyms. Levitating with no visible (or felt) means of support unnerving rather than rapturous. And on that rather tenuous connection, build a whole mythology of driver-less cars careening down the highway. I prefer to stick to Amos and Jesus.

Are you implying you support Bachmann and/or her assertions; and that she is sane? Prove it.

I’m worried that calling someone “crazy” is a slur on those who suffer from mental illness. Bachmann clearly needs professional help and those who support, love and care for her should steer her towards receiving some much needed mental health support.

How on earth she managed to be elected to the US senate and is now a Congresswoman says volumes about her supporters.

This is the lady who talks to God. Surely her fellow Republicans will rally to her support.

While I agree, of course, I still think that this cartoon gives Bachmann a bit too much credit.
