Now change the picture just a little. Have Harry Reid fighting with McConnall and make the man looking for a job a US citizen.Or maybe a US soldier fighting with a Congressman of either party in order to get his benefits in less than a year, while off to the side, a US citizen still looks for a job.The analogies continue.Respectfully,C.

We actually have a point of agreement. The President has a four year job whose benefits include a retirement package that, even without other income his post gains him, enables the Pres and spouse to live comfortably for the rest of their lives.IMO, when a president isn’t actively working in the white house, he should be ‘vacationing’ in Winchester, Va. talking to residents about the pollution in the I 85 corridor, or the effects of government action/inaction/failures to properly allow farmers and community to manage the land.. He should be in Lebanon, PA visiting at parks and playing golf with people who want to talk about jobs, perhaps even job creators themselves. The president can have a vacation, and a chance to talk to voters in Yosemite, Everglades National Park, or Lil’s Bluebird diner in Atlanta. Its bad enough that those with the most ability to create jobs and invest in America would rather gamble on money futures and buy up resources on which they can then ‘speculate’ to their advantage; our elected officials should HAVE to talk to a certain number of their constituents in a given time period w/o that access being dependent on the size of the checkbook.President’ shouldn’t get anymore vacation than any other public servant. And then, as another mentioned elsewhere, it should very much be a working vacation. Like the police chief, fire chief, or soldier on the battlefront and/or deep underwater in a sub…. the President should NEVER consider himself to be off duty.Glad to finally find some nuanced agreement with you Mr. Stevenson. Any other comparisons?Respectfully,C.

“Give him a job with 29 hours a week…..you know……like here.”He lost his job when Egyptian “job creators” moved his manufacturing job to China….. you know…. like here.

Well little working class Egyptian if you can carry a gun and shoot straight you have two ready made employers with an every growing vacancy list. Granted you will be helping Egypt to ‘cut off its nose in order to spite its face’, but it’s work.

Egypt’s export of cotton clothing has been dropping for over 10 years because of external competition. Bangladesh may be taking more of those jobs, but the Chinese are also taking Egypt’s market share. The political crisis has made things much worse.http://www.hindawi.com/isrn/economics/2012/941695/

“Obama backed The Muslim Brotherhood (Rebels) when they were working to oust President Mubarak”Source? Obama only abandoned Mubarek after he was ousted. He gave lukewarm acceptance to Morsi’s government & has not protested Morsi’s ouster. You can accuse Obama of not having a clear plan for Egypt, but the reality is that we have little ability to enforce any plan for Egypt.I doubt Egyptian’s are worried about their leaders’ plan for the U.S. Much of the unrest has been driven by a lousy economy. See my note about textiles above.
