If it turns out to have problems (and I am certain that it will, it is a construct of human beings) the Congress can get off of its duff (and actually do the work for which the people have hired them) and modify it until it works for just about everybody the way it should. But just rejecting it outright and starting all over is NOT a viable option (especially for the some 50 million middle class working stiffs that have no medical insurance)!!!
It was Teddy Roosevelt who recognized, and quelled, the dangerous power of corporate monopoly. It was Ronald Reagan who started restoring those abuses, through regulation changes that actually defied the laws Congress had passed.
Living in a remote area, over the post Reagan era, the rise in prices, and reduction in services in the airline industry has been quite noticeable. Flying American last week, noted the decline in services, and routes, and comfort. Combining with U.S. Airlines, like the mergers of Continental/Delta et al has hurt airline travelers, severely. The creation of “hubs” has also made air travel a ridiculous era. Having to travel from the east coast, back to Dallas, to fly to Florida, is absurd, but the “deregulated world”, just like NOT being able to fly directly to almost anywhere anymore.
There is no comparison to “ORomneycare”, that actually has been proven to REDUCE costs, and would do so more effectively if corporate control of pharma and insurance was regulated, and “single payer” the rule.
Interestingly, Krugman himself has ruled out being part of this (or apparently any other) administration. He feels that he would not work well within the constraints of being inside the administration.
I probably have more influence…, doing what I do now, than I would if I were inside trying to, you know, do the court power games that come with any White House — even the best — which I don’t think I’d be any good at. So no, this is fine.

For anyone interested in what is wrong with this comic, please see Paul Krugman’s editorial in the New York Times today.

This slam of Obamacare is a lie. It is designed to reduce cost and increase services.

That proves nothing. Google “Why evolution is wrong,” and you’ll get over 140 million hits.

Precisely. The difference is you, not the number of Google hits for or against some topic. You’re very good at undercutting yourself.
