If they had neighbors with cows who could just waltz over and visit in Mutt’s yard – must be in the 20s or 30s – BEFORE livestock were completely banned in residential areas. Even back when I was growing up in the 50s – there were still people in big cities – like Denver, Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming – who still had chicken coops in their backyards. And, at Thanksgiving, the family would get a LIVE turkey and keep the turkey in the chicken coop until time to do the honors for Thanksgiving day! Mrs. Mutt’s dress looks like it was about a 1930 style model.
