They both need an electric power fork to shovel in all the (free) food they glom onto. Last piece of chocolate cake, indeed! Last piece of EVERY kind of cake is more like.

    Three things I wouldn’t bet on…..

!) Their being acquainted with Stu. 2) Their adding a nickel to the sales volume at the no-host bar.3) Their adding a nickel to the band’s tip jar.

This one’s almost an even gamble…. Their borrowing a quarter from the band’s tip jar.

Leaky, what do you think the odds would be?

Lets see take a quarter from the band jar.. give a nickel back… give a nickel to the food fund….they are .15 cents a head here. I think she has a baggie in her purse for “take out” Surely they won’t let the scraps go to waist will they??

I have a feeling the rest of the buffet is in the same condition. There’s no such thing as leftovers with these two.

We used to go to the “crab fest” nite at the local Casino, but the feeding frenzy that took place destroyed our appatites so we quit going. Will they stay up all nite after a sugar spike like that one? Have they even been to a Doctor lately? Do they even care? You see it all around you everyday!

When my lover and I took trips to Wisconsin (one of his daughters lives up there, and he likes the casino as well as other places) we tried to plan it in order to hit the buffet about 1/2 way in trip at either breakfast or lunch time. That one had such a huge amount of choice that it was easy to eat well without piling it on. Their meat stations had people carving on the spot. I always tried to eat healthy (even before this year) but it was not difficult there.

While in the Chicago area, we ate at normal restaurants (tho’ we DID do Medieval Times once).

The only other buffet I’ve been to within this decade is a breakfast brunch at the top of building in downtown Phoenix. Compass had a really good Sunday brunch to which I took my cousin when she visited on business.

One entrée was included with buffet so I had a filet mignon (the right size for my taste) and took plenty of vegetables and salad from buffet. I DID eat 2 desserts (because they had a dish of fresh berries and a crème brulee that was un-topped).

I once saw a heavy couple arrive at a buffet just before closing. (Could it have been Burl and Joy) Anyway, as soon as some item was out, they would ask the manager and he said they were winding down for closing, no more of this or that, no more mashed potatoes etc. After a while they expressed considerable discontent, and got coupons for a return visit. All contrived you could tell that was their M.O.

@Leaky, good to see there’s SOMETHING we agree on! Bread pudding is not for me, though – but I love the puff pastries I’ve made filled with guava paste – not much to making it unless you do all-butter puff pastry from scratch (which I do).

    Open memo to Susan

Was your understanding the same as mine regarding Marg and Don going on a camping trip??

I just found out they went to a fertility clinic.Marg wants to have a “change of life” baby.
