Inertia from too many years of Republican rule. Frankly, Dems act like an abused spouse; agreeing to anything just to get the shouting and abuse to stop for a bit. And Republicans claiming they only fight when provoked, but their definition of provocation is dangerously broad and shallow.
Sad that Obama gets the blame for the excesses of our surveillance society when it actually started in earnest under W’s watch. Perhaps it’s because we expected it from W. but had hoped that Obama knew better. (Of course he’s also pinned with the bailouts, another Bush idea – I guess he’s just easy to blame)
