I came upon a couple and the woman does not look 65 but much younger and she is thinking of retiring. She works in aircraft. My own mom is 88 but has stamina of 70-year-old. She does a lot of walking. I do not see many elderly walks as she does. No aids as walkers. What a sweet reunion for Clovia and Slim.
Back to the daily dose of dog slobber in the face.
To quote Megan the shark in another comic strip, Hawthorne asks her, what’s in the sack? “My lunch.” Hawthorne asks again, you brought a sack lunch? “No.”
End of discussion about dogs licking people in the face.
I wonder what happened in Hawaii. As mean as Clovia is to Slim, she’s happy to see him now? Did I miss something?
When I opined yesterday that Slim is given a very short end of the stick in this strip, I noted that others that day opined that they would rather see less of Slim.
This, I think, proves my point.
Slim, the last of the Wallet family, appears to have become a disposable character.
Slim is an in-law. There are several others who are Wallets – Corky is the biological son of Walt and Phyllis and he has children and grandchildren. Skeezix is adopted son of Walt and Phillis, but a biological nephew of Phyllis. Clovia is Skeezix’s daughter so much more of a Wallet than Slim is.
Thanks for the correction. I didn’t realize that Clovia was the Wallet.
While I may seem harsh in my comments about the daily strip, and feel that it’s deserved, I still enjoy the Sunday strip, where Slim and Clovia usually don’t show up.

Does this mean we aren’t going to see Clovia on the Hawaiian beach in a bikini? Yeah, I know she’s over 60 years old. Well, so am I.

Like Clovia, I look younger than I really am. (When I tell people my age, they rarely believe me.) Do I look as good as she does? Not even close!

If she were in real life Clovia probably looks like the woman in the tv ad who says “I’m only in my 60’s but have plenty of years ahead of me.”
