I guess that’s why Republicans want to spend so many billions on more border agents. Just a jobs program for southern states. Silly Gore Bane.

How is it possible for someone to even exist in this world and make posts such as yours? Our people in the military (about 2 million of them) are not then employed? Those additional millions in both local, state, and federal governments that take care of our vital infrastructure such as the electrical system, and the roads and highways are also unemployed? The people that administer such programs as social security and Medicare (which privately employed people pay for all their working lives) that are vital to tens of millions of our own deserving elderly to keep them from abject poverty, are not employed? When there is a large scale disaster in this country, then those that administer the help that even the red states get from the federal government, are also not employed? Those engineers and scientists that work in national laboratories are also not employed? The firemen and policeman that help keep all of us safe and protect our private property from fire and criminals are obviously not employed! The list goes on and on to the tune of some 20 million or so of our fellow citizens that are employed by local, state, and federal governments in this, the greatest and most wealthy country in the world should ALL then be accounted as unemployed by such an employment expert as you seem to be claiming to be?

Heck, even those totally obstructionist, do nothing, Republican Congress people are actually counted as employed by the people of this country through the federal government. Although, that is admittedly one case where I would not totally give you the lie, if you were to mean that they should actually be counted among the unemployed, at least as to the quality of the job they are doing!!!

Jobs simply don’t pop up due to low taxes, when there is an actual need for labor jobs are created. However

    1) Productivity is at an all time high, you need fewer people to do the same job. Or in some cases machinery has removed the need for certain jobs

    2) Capital investment reduces cash payouts, shareholders do not like this.

Yes, it is possible by making ourselves so efficient (in other words stripping everything to the bone) that we can take jobs from somebody else in China or India. A shorter work week or more holidays could alleviate the problem, not because 40h/ week is slavery but because a lack of need for work should correlate to lack of need to work, not inversely to the need to be more competitive.
