When I was 8, a neighbor kid left his bike on our lawn, so I “borrowed” it for a few hours and taught myself how to ride. After countless falls and liberally skinned knees, I figured it out and have been riding ever since.

I learned to ride a motorcycle first, THEN a bicycle.

I was going to say the same thing as Ms. Newman, there’s no way Clayton is older than 9. And he’s really good at landing.

My brother tried to teach me to ride his bike. I had to do it myself when he wasn’t around, using the neighbor’s fence and balancing myself until I was able to do it without holding on. Never could learn on a girl’s bike. I always rode his.

I learned to ride a unicycle in college when I was in a juggling club. I tried it again recently and have forgotten most of how to do it.

The way I learned was by holding onto a wall. Fortunately they let us practice in a gym, so I had a nice surface to unicycle on and a nice solid wall to hold onto.
