I think you’re missing the point of what cartoons are all about.

Takes an imagination and a sense of humor to enjoy the comics, especially Overboard. I would assume those that do not, never read The Lord of the Rings trilogy & if they did, never got into it fighting along with Frodo, etc.SO THERE!

you’ve dug yourself a deeeeep hole and … I ain’t gonna help you out.The wrath of the Crew, and Fellowbabies will be upon you, and you won’t know what hit you bro. While I agree, Louie COULD be more … helpful … saying so in the manner you did, is probably the worst idea of your life..Just sayin’...RUN LOUIE! RUN!In the future, when you boys play ball, have 5 or 10, or 15 baseballs.Softballs run $2.49-$7.99 each while baseballs run $2.00-$5.00 each.

Louie is a Labrador — therefore he is worth everything.

So you only value animals who can contribute to your life in some tangible way – rescue you, catch criminals, herd sheep, etc. I think it’s you who has the control issue. People sometimes want pets for companionship and to have something to love. Their animals are far from exploited. As in any loving relationship, the control goes in both directions

Have you EVER OWNED A DOG, CAT OR PET of any sort? I WOULD SAY NOT! I like some of your remarks that you post, but I SIR HAPPEN TO LOVE ANIMALS, and that post, even on a comic strip, tends to ring of garbage!

dukedog My Yellow Lab Susie, was one of the best dogs I ever owned, along with the 2 mutts I rescued, Teddy and Gallagher. They were a threesome! We would take the 3 of them in our little Orange VW beetle on our road trips, them in the back fold down seat. You would not believe the honking horns, thumbs up and smiles we got from that! GOD I MISS THOSE DOGS!

Animals are a LOT SMARTER than some people give them credit for. Look at the animals that go into nursing homes and visit with Senior Citizens. The Seniors for the most part enjoy that. I had a Policeman friend of mine who had a German Shepherd as his partner, WELL TRAINED, lived with the family and WAS in EVERY WAY part of the FAMILY, but when duty called, that dog went into Police mode. The dog has since retired and is still living with his human partner and the family. And then there are the SERVICE DOGS who guide the blind, assist the disabled, and HELP THE VETERANS WHO HAVE LOST LIMBS IN BATTLE!

AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION BUSTER, OUR PETS ARE PART OF OUR FAMILY!

It’s the unconditional love. My dog(s) keep me wanting to stay alive and guard me from despair.
