“Perhaps, but trade-off-wise I think it is true that, as others have put it, the Obama administration has put more surveillance in place at the same time it has put more internal checks on surveillance in place. Somebody in the White House is at least trying to strike a proper balance.
This sort of thing is actually one of Obama’s great strengths.
Reading Godfreydaniel, I agree, he has worked hard to strike a proper balance.on one hand you can’t just blab everything security knows, and we do need security, with as many enemies as we have, but we do have to have some internal checks to make sure it doesn’t get into abusing the knowledge.For the paranoid this is scary, but it would take 1 on 1 personal surveillance to have the government to read every email, listen to every phone call. I think that was what Obama was trying to say when he said "we are not listening to your calls. there isn’t enough manpower or time to do that.
