PLEASE tell me it wasn’t stew, Joy!

Somebody tell me it wasn’t stew.

And unfortunately, Leaky, there ARE people like them…. maybe not in every detail…. but then they have details of their own you don’t want to know about.

Looks like Marlene’s chair has a finial. One. The other chairs are still sans finials. Is this one an escapee from Finial Detention?

Didn’t Julia Child do this as well?BTW, today is Quatorze Juillet—Bastille Day. Let’s celebrate with our French friends the start of their revolution in 1789. If it weren’t for French help to us during our revolution, there might not be a USA. Vive la France! (and bon appetit.)

I’m surprised, Leaky, that you would say that (it’s EXACTLY what we’ve learned to expect from the Pennys). I also notice that Joys chair has no finials but that Verla’s has none in panel 1, and Marlene’s has 1 in both panels and Verla’s 2 in 2, and they are all very mishshapen from falling off so much.

You’ll can’t possibly believe that Joy could be careful enough to chop all the vegetables AND meat for her stew without some of it falling on the floor (~and since it will be cooked- that cleans it~ ). That takes some skill and balance.

@Dunes- I know, so I prefer my own cooking.

And Leaky, I’m surprised that Paula did not weigh in on this one (would have been apropos)

Julia Child did drop a slippery fish and washes it to prepare. I think it was one of her first season. I remember seeing it on a show about the earlier cooking shows. This is a reminder why I would never accept an invite to one of their parties. I can’t believe either of them clean the floor. I am guessing a NO to the question would be the opposite??
