No Republican is going to be the next president. Simply because as Mitt Romney found out to his loss, by the time a Republican has had to become an ultra conservative to get past the Republican nomination process, he is perceived as being much too far to the right in politics for most moderates to even consider as a true candidate. And it is the moderates that actually decide the winner in the general election. And if such a candidate then tries to move back to the center for the general election, he is then considered a “Flip-Flopper” by all sides!! The Tea Party type ultra conservatives have literally doomed the Republican Party to the outer wastelands of politics!!
For instance, probably the most winnable Republican ticket for the POTUS for the general election in 2016 would be Chris Christy with John Huntsman. Does any reasonable Republican even think that such a relatively reasonable and moderate ticket could win the nomination against the wishes of the ultra right? Not on your life!!
Besides which, if she actually wants the bloody job, the next election for POTUS is Hillary Clinton’s to lose, and I do not think (again, if she wants it) she will lose!!
