Good morning all. I’m in need of some BB, apricot flavour, please. Marg, as quick as you can, please; just thinking of that old geezer making potty humour, especially in front of the kids, is making my stomach roil.
There’s something about potty humour that little boys love. And old boys, too. When my grandson was 2-3 years old, he would grin and announce to all, “Zackie farted.” All the women folks would cluck about it.Then my son and I went to see “Austin Powers, the Spy who Shagged Me” and hurt ourselves laughing. The same women folks clucked then, too. It’s a guy thng.
Years ago, working in a daycare, if a kid decided to walk around for ten minutes saying “poop…poop…poop..” and laughing maniacally, it was always a little boy…
It’s usually guys who like movies with bathroom humor.
And recently, a friend and I were laughing at what I admit was a pretty raunchy joke…when her husband came in just dying to tell us one with a punchline on about the same level as your grandson’s…
We just rolled our eyes.
He couldn’t understand why we liked one and not the other.
I did not know Burl knew potty jokes other than looking in the mirror.. Nice to see the kids laughing anyway, even if it is at the shiny baldness of Burl. Maybe going to grandpas is a joke for Timmy and wanted to share the joy with his friend??
@Mike, I’m not so sure about that (boys) I think it has more to do with being juvenile and boredom. On long car rides with the family one of my grand daughters suddenly took to saying “grandma farted” (rather like the song about being run over by a reindeer). She just liked to do things that annoyed me. It only made it worse that I explained to her that I did not pass gas in public, much less in a closed vehicle. Even now, as a vegan, I would not. A lady always goes to the toilet.
Now that she’s a teen, I’ve seen her post outrageous statements to her friends on FB (I told her that future employers could see that) and she “unfriended” me (not just boys). At least her recent posts have nothing to do with me (“old people” are invisible to some of those youngsters).
But movies? Even I enjoyed “Ted” when my lover and I went with his teen grandson (we sat away from him though, too embarrassing otherwise). His daughter and others went to another film. Naturally, I already knew that McFarland was involved, but none of them ever watched Family Guy (one of my weekly favs).
My granddaugter got in trouble and not asked back when, at her sons Christmas story time, she sang to the kids "Jungle Bells, Batman smells etc. Her kids also learned the Beans Beans the Musical Fruit song from her. Sorry I laughed along.
@2Old, my grandkids are not having babies any time soon either but this year the boys are 24, 22, 20 and in June 10; the girls will be 17 and 18 this month.
I have a beautiful family.My excuse for a flag is a big LED one to hang in the bay window of my LR. I have no flagpole or any place to put one in my front yard.
