Same duration (usually 3-4 days) for my packages to ship, and the USPS is far cheaper than UPS (my post office and UPS shipping station are in neighboring shopping plazas).
I get excellent service from the USPS. The clerks and tne deliverry people are always pleasant and hard working. It’s a shame the congress put the pay ahead pension burden on them or they would be financially stable.
the fact of the matter is the USPS is so efficient, reliable and cheap that UPS and FEDEX use it to deliver the last mile on everything but their highest end services.
While some “crazy dum stuff” was done to the Post Office “Management” under Bush, and others, who made it a “corporate operation”, it’s still pretty good. If not, why does FedEx use THE POST OFFICE TO DELIVER FOR THEM!
My daughter worked for UPS while in college. My next door neighbor is a UPS driver, and the work very hard, are pushed to “deliver”, yet are union workers, and have benefits and the company keeps up their equipment for safety.
FedEx on the other hand fights unions tooth and nail, charges more for delivery, doesn’t maintain equipment for the safety of the their workers, and treats them like, well, you can figure it out.
So all said, I’ll take the USPS and UPS most any day for quality of service. If CONGRESS allowed the Postal Service to charge more, and NOT have them pay off the next 70 years of employee “benefits” in the next ten, then they might be as profitable as UPS (union too) or even better than FedEx, who they deliver for!
btw, the republican house is forcing the post office to run at a loss so they can then point to the postal union as the culprit. all they have to do is raise the postage by a penny.by the way WE TAXPAYERS are subsidizing the profits of FEDEX and UPS by setting up the system so they are buying USPS services at a loss to the taxpayers while they charge dollars for what the USPS charges pennies for.

My postman has my mail delivered by 1:00 PM. The UPS driver has yet to deliver a package before 7:00 PM.

As far as government agencies; the US Post Office is actually a shining example of excellence..…and I don’t mean that sarcastically.

The cartoon made me laugh, but I have had no complaints about the service from the USPS.
