The only time my father got REALLY angry at my mother was when they were kidding around and she jokingly said that she wanted a divorce. My father stopped kidding on the spot and said that divorce was one thing that he would NOT joke about. This year they’ll be celebrating their 63rd anniversary…and they still hold hands. My parents have a love story for the ages.
I don’t know how old it is, but Lewis Grizzard used to do it, and it was convincing because he had four wives. As I have posted elsewhere, Lewis’s problem was that he wanted a woman who looked like a supermodel and made biscuits like his momma. And that just doesn’t happen.
My divorce cost my ex wife everything: the house, car savings—everything. Judges don’t like women who don’t even want the kids. I got custudy of my 3 and 5 year old daughters and she was ordered to pay child support (she didn’t). They are grown now and still love me!
