Linus is easily impressed by such a boring field trip. Miss Othmar must have been the teacher.

I remember going on many a field trip in third and fourth grade. My favorites were the ones my class took to the fire station, a cheese factory, and a chocolate factory.

In Chicago back in the 30s, the Park people arranged free admission to some White Sox games. All we had to do was pay our three cent street car fare to get there.

We once went to the zoo and had to write about it. There was a sign for prairies detailing what animals lived there, so I wrote that. My apparently unobservant teacher who did not see the sign corrected it with red pen to “prairie dogs.” I was chagrined, but sometimes you just have to Mark It Zero and move on.

The only field trips I ever made were to Ebbets Field.

Field trips were the most fun! I remember a dairy and a potato chip factory and a bog. I still enjoy going to factories for tours.

For those that grew up in a field of concrete, asphault and metal, it would be interesting to see what it used to look like.

When I was in school we went on Field Trips to see various factories – a box making factory, a bread factory and a cheese factory. These weren’t public tours – we were specially taken through by one of the supervisors. We were only in elementary school. These days with our nanny state mentality that would never be allowed – sending kids through the middle of working factories without a formal induction and wearing lots of personal protective equipment.

A guy and a girl have twins and name them Juan and Jamal, but decide to put them up for adoption. 30 years later the dad decides he’s going to try and locate his long lost sons just see what they look like now, so heads down to the orphanage.

He finds out that the boys were seperated as babies and they only have an address for Juans family.

When he arrives the foster mother is there and shows him a picture of Juan as he is now, she then wishes him luck in his search for Jamal.

He replies “Oh, i don’t need to find him now. Once you’ve seen Juan you’ve seen Jamal”

I don’t think our small school system can afford field trips anymore. Something about a choice between schools sports and field trips….

Snoopy wouldn’t chase rabbits, he’d invite them to the doghouse for tea.

The only reason that we can’t afford the money for schools to go on field trips(or to have shop class, etc) isn’t because we can’t afford it, it is because we choose to spend the money on other things – like war……
