Yeah … at this point the bird is pretty much Woodstock, but this is from (I think) 1966, and he didn’t get named until after the concert three years later. The original wasn’t in color, of course.

The stories with the kids seem almost like a sitcom compared to the pure cartoon craziness of the Snoopy material.

At least he was flying upright (for a moment).

The birds were still being colored blue when they appeared in the Sunday strips, so the colorist is right to do so here.

So Woodstock wasn’t Woodstock until Snoopy found out his name was Woodstock?

The blue birds have bothered me for some time. The b&w comic is actually nicer because of this.

Ouch, that’s gotta hurt.

The Snoopy merch always has his doghouse red, so that’s probably why they are coloring it red here…
