They released the details of this 100% predictable “response” hours before it was made. It’s amazing to me that people would even watch it. Did they think he was going to say something NEW, or even actually respond to Obama? Nope. He just read the same script again.
I’m not surprised that Rubio needed a drink of water, but I am surprised (a) that they didn’t have it easily accessible for him, and (b) that they didn’t do a retake.
Though I’m left of center, I appreciated the peaceful way Mr. Rubio put forth his ideas (and they are much to be respected). I chuckled at the drink he took, as it just seemed a bit funny… also, I have to keep reminding myself to drink enough water… in fact, think I’ll have a drink right now!
Insanity must be epidemic in the MSM, with the Liberals ignoring what either the President or the GOP said in the SOTU.-Since Obama is the pet creation of the MSM, nothing he says or does gets any criticism. But the GOP must be eliminated and Rubio has been identified as giving the Democrats trouble in future elections, so the entire Democratic Party and the entire liberal MSM are doing their specialty—-Character assassination by criticism and ridicule and demonizing…and Rubio (a GOP Moderate) is now the Number One Target.-Probably every liberal making a federal case of a speaker taking a drink of water during a speech, has himself or herself in public speakiing also had to take a sip of water for a speech. There is a reason that a company advertises a spray for “dry mouth”….a lot of people suffer from it, especially in winter dry-heat rooms. ***What Hypocrites the Democrats are.
It was just the same cr^p we heard throughout the political campaign of the last 4 years. I don’t really need to hear what the R’s thought of the president’s speech again, I’ve been listening to it for years. They lost — get over it. AND none of them were too worried about the budget or deficit when their side was running the country into the ground economically (last time I checked Obama was not in power when that market crashed).
A hundred years from now it will still be Bush’s fault. He screwed up at a crucial point in history, and time will not make that fact go away. Two mistaken wars, the deficit and economic mess… it’s all, and always will be, his fault. But getting back to the cartoon, it is unkind. The speech really was weak – both in delivery and content – and the grab for water really strange (a little bottle with a cap, what’s that about??) but still the cartoon fails to see the metaphor for an incompetent Republican Party and ends up just being sort of petty.

The humor is not in needing a sip of water, it is in the Rs seeming capable of screwing up just about every opportunity they get.

You liberals are too destructive for your own good. Obviously, you realize that your fellow libs don’t score high in the IQ department…
