Looks like the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy also ended on that island.

Ransom is offended because he doesn’t think women can be equal to men. Very few people would agree with him.

    “Til she runs for President?…”____________________________________

I think the current thinking is very mixed on whether Hillary – in just two short years – will have any stomach for wading into the sh*t storm of slings an’ arrows that running for the presidency in 2016 would entail. I’m not at all sure she wants it anymore (or wants it that badly, I should say).-A lot will depend upon the outcome of the mid-terms of 2014, and how Obama is looking as a second-term Democrat president. Historically, the White House usually changes parties following a two-term president. But with Obama, any historical precedent may be subject to providing a surprise. -Hillary is currently 65, and would be 69 at the time of the 2016 election…Unless her health condition is, shall we say, “as robust as Reagan”; I really think she will just be too old for a run. And the phrase “Happy Warrior” would never have any traction as respects Hillary Clinton.-Then there’s the loyal opposition…if the GOP still has any viability left an’ has recovered somewhat from 2012…then a great deal will definitely depend upon who they nominate to run for the “open” (no incumbent) presidency in 2016. -“Will Hillary run?” Even if she continues to laugh off the question without giving a direct answer, this will keep the pundits busy for some time, I suspect, now that she is retiring from the State Department. Speaking of State, I’m not sure that the Benghazi ‘scandal’ has actually left any permanent scars on her resume, but count on it being very much in play if she puts her name in the ring in a couple of years. -Of course, she would also have to content with the reality of defending the Obama administration’s record (whatever it may entail at that point in time), as she would be widely perceived as somewhat of the political successor to it. -All of this paints a picture of a “very tough row to hoe”, so to speak, for this singular lady of politics. I guess if anyone could effectively wrestle with all this, it’d be this embattled former First Lady, with her formidable resume and ‘iron lady’ personality. I think she is probably tougher an’ wiser that when she battled Obama in 2008… Only time will tell how this American drama will ultimately unfold…

I’m familiar with the female “soldiers” in ‘Nam, on both sides. I’m also familiar with the males in that role. How many Americans realize how much smaller on average both Japanese and Vietnamese MALE combatants were than today’s “average” American FEMALE?

There were many separate tribes that make up the mountain people of Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia. They pretty much all hated the American supported “government” in the south, and weren’t fond of “Marxist communism” either. They just wanted to be LEFT ALONE! When pushed, they fought very effectively to maintain their independent nature.

Women in our military have been denied promotion because they couldn’t enter the “combat arms” elements, THAT is the major change of this proposal. It isn’t about putting all the women in front line infantry units, although they can do quite well there, if you just pay attention to the reality, instead of the “biblical” view of Paul, and others, only happy if women are considered less than, and the property of , men.

Hillary sent the ‘boys’ back to their ‘No Girls Allowed’ treehouse. She made them all look like such fools.

Love the spelling of your handle Newenglandah,You reply to one who deals in acerbic opinion most times. Relevance is rarely important to the topics to which he comments. However, he sometimes surprises with well thought words. ^I know some women who could take Mr. Obama, but the ones who are in uniform would wait until he was no longer President.I also think Michelle Obama could knock him into next week if she had a reason.Grinningly,C.

“Any woman in the military could kick O’s butt.”Yes. Pretty much any combat trained woman can kick the butt of pretty much any non-combat trained man. That’s kind of the point of hand-to-hand combat training. Did you have a point?

I would certainly agree with the captioned quote above. That’s one ABW that I would NOT tick off…I believe I am too old to survive the surgeries that would be needed after going a round with her…IF she left me still breathing, that is…- -’Wouldn’t it be fun to see her an’ Rosie O’Donnell in “Celebrity Death Match?” I’d pay real money to see that!
