Did you see how McConnell reached out with his anti-Obama diatribe about guns yesterday? “My friend, our freedom is under direct assault. From those who want take your guns. From those who want to shred our Constitution, and as our good in friend Rand Paul from Kentucky says, from those who want to be King.”
“After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.” -WILLIAM BURROUGHS,

Don’t forget the third element that would possess guns in a society such as was described – criminals.
The fundamental condition for such a society to function for the safety and protection of it’s members would be the existence of a profound trust in the police and in the military by the members of such a society. I won’t deny that such an arrangement could never exist, but It’s obvious that we are nowhere close to having that now…primarily because politicians (aka ‘elected officials’ an’ appointed bureaucrats) control both groups. Politicians are inherently untrustworthy.Of THAT fact, we have an overabundance of evidence.

Fool abound an’ surround us…Given his abysmal first-term record, he an’ Mista Jimmy will have to duke it out in “Bloodfest Rebooted” to determine the all-time loser an’ worst president in the modern age (or ’since Delano last tip-toed through the Rose Garden – take your pick…)
Worst Presidents in my lifetime are 2 Bushes a Nixon and a Regean. Best President (so far) was a Clinton (skuzzy human being I agree but a great president) and this is from an Indepentdent Moderate who has voted for Democrats, rebblicans and Libertarians in my 40 + years of voting. I am proud to say I voted against Regean and the Bushes.________________________________________
‘Fair enough… …I have also been voting for many years – first time I was eligible was 1968 – ’was all set to help RFK get into the White House, but it was not to be. I couldn’t bring myself to support Tricky Dick Nixon, Lyin’ Lyndon Johnson, nor Happy Hubert. So, as a thoroughly disillusioned youth – I sat that one out an’ just accepted the consequences (so did the winner, as it turned out, who went on to resign in disgrace as a ‘crook.")-I’d give Clinton some pretty good marks for having been an effective (thus, successful) president and leader…He had some effective partners in Congress (many Republicans) who helped to make many of his successes into realities…-Lastly, I am very proud to say that I never voted for Obama.

All of which, of course, is completely false.
