Woman and Cathy: MERRY CHRISTMAS! Woman: Nothing up your sleeve?... Cathy: Nothing in your desk drawer?... Woman: We did it this year, Cathy! Cathy: We finally kept our promise! Woman: No "silly little nothing" gifts... Cathy: No "I was baking anyway so it doesn't count" gifts... Woman: No "I just saw this and though of you but I wasn't planning to give you a gift so I'm innocent" gifts! Cathy: No "I bought this last summer so it isn't technically a Christmas gift" gifts! Woman: No gifts! Cathy: Just a nice, sincere "Merry Christmas" between friends! Woman: My cat wanted your dog to have this basket of toys!

No way a cat would want a dog to have anything. They would just keep it for themselves.

“Merry Christmas” doesn’t mean I have a gift, or want one. …though a popcorn ball would not go amiss.

Actually, the gift from the pet is a cute idea. But tell the cat I like scratch-off lottery tickets.

It was a gift-less Christmas for Cathy and friends …

Never, ever trust that promise. I always have a spare gift just in case.
