If companies blocked Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, and Netflix their productivity would soar and their employee count would plummet. Welcome to the 21st Century. Who remembers walking to work?

This is definitely in the dot com era when things weren’t monitored as much. Granted I didn’t have packages sent to work the way they do in the Cathy comic, but we definitely didn’t work the entire 8 hours that we were there. I will say that since I worked for software companies back then that I did work from home outside of typical business hours so it all evened out in the end.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!

I remember a few times way back when I worked in an office having to convince my supervisors that a large part of designing software is done by thinking and not by keying. So when I am sitting back and appear to be doing nothing I am actually doing the hardest part of design and that is not a time to disturb me. Fortunately I have been lucky in the places I have worked that my bosses understood the design process.

’tis a great day out there today – sunshine on the new fallen snow and some interesting wavy snow drifts on the newly frozen ice along the shore. I hope your day is as great.

No one ever put in a full 8 hour day in any of the places I’ve worked. My work was always done and in on time, so I had plenty of time to goof off.

Yeah … everyone working eight hours nonstop probably isn’t too realistic. However, our favorite comic characters take things to the nub-job extreme, as usual. Ha.

    HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
