I vote for everything they said in the second panel. They need a hobby other than Cathy. So glad I wasn’t raised by helicopter hyperworriers.

Oh, for the love of all that’s holy! lightenup is right: you people need to get a hobby besides your daughter! Might I suggest playing a board game, putting a jigsaw puzzle together, reading a good book, taking a walk, or going to a movie? There are so MANY things you could be doing with your time that would be a lot more “productive” besides sitting around and stressing yourselves out over your grown, married daughter. Just because she didn’t answer her phone the moment you called, it doesn’t mean that “she’s not ok.”

Maybe she’s working, or is at the gym. Maybe she’s talking to Andrea or Charlene on the other line. Maybe she and Irving are having dinner at their favorite restaurant before going to the theater to see a show. Maybe she’s cleaning her house, doing the laundry, gardening, or walking her dogs. Maybe she’s in the bathroom. Maybe she and Irving are “busy” now that they finally got their house back to themselves again (IF you know what I mean!).

She could be doing any NUMBER of things that is preventing her from answering her phone right now that has absolutely nothing in the world to do with you, so please ….. Just. Stop. When she sees that she missed your call, she’ll give you a call back as soon as she can. Believe me, if anything were truly wrong, you’d be the first ones to know about it.

Oh, and by the way ….. the both of you are most definitely “not ok.” Seek professional help!
