Cathy: I'm seeing my old friend Andrea next week and I have nothing to wear! Irving: That was bursting with clothes ten minutes ago!!

She’s just contriving a reason to go shopping. If she mixes it up, it won’t look dated. At least the thrift store shoppers will have lots to choose from in her town… sigh.

Being one of those who likes to make a good impression, I really can relate to Cathy’s dilemma. I know this fact won’t sit well with some of you, but there it is.

A vicious cycle, isn’t it? I was surprised to see the clothes go “the other way” between the closet and … elsewhere. However, I, too, sense a shopping trip coming.

I knew someone who threw her entire wardrobe out every year and bought a whole new wardrobe of very expensive clothes. Actually I guess she didn’t throw it out but sold the clothes to thrift stores.
