Man: Welcome to tax season and a new shift in focus! Last year we faulted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for much of our economic misery. Then we spent 12 months watching bailed-out executives do nothing different except plop their even larger hindquarters on even more supersized chairs. We used to blame "Fannie and "Freddie". Now we blame "Freddie's Fanny"! Irving: We couldn't have done our taxes ourselves?? Cathy: It's more uplifting to hear it from an expert.

Apparently, in the circle of life, the cycle of business is not complimentary.

Uplifting is not the word I was thinking of…
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day, all!

lightenup is right – doing taxes or hearing it from an expert is NOT uplifting.
First flock of geese this spring stopped for a rest on the beach yesterday and there is a lot more open water now so I guess winter is really over.
I hope you get to enjoy this fine spring day.

If he was my accountant, I would be doing my taxes myself.
We’ve got all the birds now, hendelca…even the egret showed up on Saturday…will be sending them your way.

I can relate to this one all too well since I’ve had a temp job working with taxes for years (I’m now in my sixth). Basically, it’s data validation/verification on two adjacent computer screens. Let’s just say I work my “hindquarters” off each year. Though the job isn’t my favorite, it’s a paycheck and I do well with it. OK—rant over … (Just had to mention my job after reading today’s strip.)
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
