Cathy: I also win the argument in my mind before I even start conversation.

Yeah. I have avoided more than a few problems by simply saying, “Go for it”. “You first.” works sometimes too.

I clean up before the house cleaner comes, but that’s because she shouldn’t have to deal with my clutter. She comes to vacuum and dust and do actual cleaning, not organize my stuff. Plus it’s good for me to go through things, whereas she would just put them in better piles. As for Cathy and Irving getting their finances together, better late than never.

“Mad”, back in the 60s, had a bit about getting rich by creating a “pre-cleaning-girl” service, employing bonded and insured girls with passkeys, who let themselves in. Since Mrs. Housewife never meets them, she’s never embarrassed.
