I don’t understand this way of thinking. If I’m given a gift, I don’t want to know anything about how much it cost. It could have cost $2.75 or $500, and I think it’s tacky to discuss that. If you’re a great bargain hunter or just really generous, that’s fine, but talking about it as you’re giving a gift is bad manners. (Cringe)
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! I hope everyone has a great day!
I had a buddy who really wanted a killer dress to wear to a late January Dance. I took her shopping a few days after New Years’s day. A thousand dollar dress was down 45%. Then there were extra special newspaper coupons…additional mark down 25%. I then used my employee discount….another 25%. She purchased the dress. Later she modeled it for me. Incredibly flattering and she just kicked ass as the belle of the ball making her rivals look like bag ladies. Despite all this, she was most enthusiastic about the great deal the dress turned out to be…
I’m with lightenup – I don’t want to know how much the gift I received cost or how much of a bargain it is. I am just thrilled to get a gift. I know some people who want to know to see how much they are worth in the eyes of the giver. If the gift was purchased at a huge discount then the giver must not think much of the recipient. Stupid way of thinking but then there are a lot of stupid people in the world (just watch/listen/read the news and you will see how many there are).
Another cold but beautiful sunshiny day today. I hope the sun shines for you today.

I get high on bargains and deals. But I’m Scot’s ancestry….it comes naturally.

Sometimes the story of the hunt is more interesting than the product of it.

Yup—I’m with the crowd here. To me, the thought counts a lot more than the price of gifts.

Me too…don’t care how much it cost. At my age, I don’t really want the gifts, let’s just go do something fun together.
