Eight different "persistent organic pollutants" in butter, celery, green beans and squash! Coumarin in cinnamon! Oxalates in sweet potatoes! Poisonous gasses spewing from over-heated non-stick pans! Artery-clogging fats in gravy! Glycemic index-exploding corn syrup in marshmallows! And who-knows-what in the tap water used to wash fungicides off the genetically-engineered veggies! Cathy: ... um. OK. We'll see you in a few days. Woman: Can you believe it?? Our daughter-in-law didn't offer to bring a dish!!

Sounds like Irving’s mom has all the food groups covered. ;-) Is she trying to scare Cathy off so she doesn’t come? Eek, this is another level of crazy.

I think I will stick to bringing a bottle of grape juice wine. It tastes good for all ages and there are almost never any leftovers.

Well, isn’t that just absolutely lovely?! I wonder what other “charming” foodborne illnesses Cathy’s bat-sh*t crazy M-I-L can come up with in order to further ruin the only other two Thanksgiving dinner-related items she didn’t mention: canned cranberry sauce (since it would be poisonous to home-make it in a non-stick pan), and the pumpkin pie for dessert ….. minus the whipped topping, of course, because I’m sure there’s probably something in it that, for one reason or another, is too dangerously “toxic” to eat as well?!? :-P

Wow. That was quite a tirade from Irving’s mom. Honestly, I’m about as flabbergasted as Cathy looks here, but I’ll toss in an [eye-roll] for good measure. Oy.
