Cathy: On this glorious summer Sunday, we'll walk to the farmer's market... choose locally grown fruit and vegetables... buy eggs right from the chicken farmer... cheese from the dairy farmer... honey from the beekeeper... bread and jam from a neighborhood kitchen... flowers from local fields... knowing that every choice we make today is saving energy and reducing pollution! Except this one... Irving: Hello. We need a fleet of minivan taxis to haul our eco-sacks, our dogs and us home.

I am on the hunt for reusable grocery totes since our state makes the change over this coming March. They would make nice Christmas presents this approaching holiday time. (especially with the LL Bean logo on them….I’m a material girl. Grocery snob?) : D

the LL Bean website has lots of totes for sale, some with their logo. The hunt is over =)

Another example of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Well, maybe more like paying Peter and Paul to make yourself feel better. A fool and his money are soon parted.

Yup—I just knew this one was far too logical in the first panels. Then in the last, bingo: [Eye-roll] City.
As for the reusable bags, I think I’ve found them in the dollar store in the past, though they didn’t seem to have any this week. I’m looking to replace some of mine.
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

Yep. Just like I said yesterday: what a couple of dumm-dumms!
Not only have they bought more food than they could possibly carry home after they walked there but you just know that the majority of it will go to waste and have to be thrown away rather than eaten — which means (surprise! surprise!) nothing but wasted, thrown-away money as well!

Most of those “locally grown” fruits and vegerables are trucked in from far away,

I agree lynnirwin. I recall trying to convince my wife that the ‘local’ corn on sale at a roadside stand in June could not be from anywhere within a couple of thousand miles. Our corn is ready in late August or September. Definitely not June.
Well, it is all over for another summer. Last performance of Frozen Jr. with the little kids (from 6 to 12 years of age) went as well as expected. Sad though after all the work they did. Incredible performance from them considering they get only 13 days of rehearsal from July 1st to opening night. Ah well, first production meeting for Mary Poppins this week so something to look forward to.I hope you all had as enjoyable a day as I did.
