We had a “friend” would accuse us of just letting our cats lick the plates clean. One time she surprised us by doing our dishes for us (she had access to our apartment). Unfortunately, she used cold water and didn’t rinse thoroughly; you could still see bubble rings on the plates. She also mopped our floor, but didn’t rinse; we would stick to the floor as we walked. She caused more work than she attempted to help with.
I’m a HUGE dog lover but . . . yuck! If Cathy had only finished the job she started by running the dishwasher as soon as she got it loaded, Irving wouldn’t have then turned around and put away dirty dishes that the dogs had just licked “clean” because he was trying to be helpful and simply didn’t know any better. That’s why it’s best if only one person were in charge of certain tasks (like this one, for example) but because the two of them spent all week arguing over who’s method is “right” and whose is “wrong,” they are now going to have to re-wash everything in their cabinets because they’re most likely not going to remember what was dirty in the dishwasher and what wasn’t. :-(
