Ima, if you think Boehner can put ANYTHING together that would pass his own house, you’ve been watching a different congress than the rest of us has. The GOP has become the party that’s opposed to arithmetic, science, economics, reason, and even basic human caring. There is nothing left but “whatever Obama might be willing to sign, we’ll oppose.” The only hope is that Boehner can get 25 Republicans to sign on to Pelosi’s plan, and then at least we won’t be plunged back into another Republican recession.

There will eventually be a deal but not until the new Congress is seated. Boehner is biding his time waiting to be reappointed Speaker while everyone else has now taken their Christmas break. No Democrat or Republican will like the final bill but the alternative is even more unpleasant for everyone involved.

Face it, GOP: you LOST. You only kept as many seats as you have through aggressive gerrymandering, and even then you lost outright in the Senate. You have no more bargaining chips. Americans want fiscal responsibility, not more sweetheart deals for the rich.

    Very accurate.

Probably it has been done already but I can’t stop seeing Romney as Marley’s ghost approaching Boehner as Scrooge . “Scroooooooooooge.”

“I suspect his power in the House is going to be very diminished this next Congressional session.”

That’s probably very true. The problem is they are still a majority and that will mean continued obstructionism for another couple of years, assuming the democrats can win the house in 2014.

“No matter what Boehner pulls together the dems won’t let it go anywhere.”-What, exactly, did Boehner bring up for a vote, that the dems ’wouldn’t let go anywere’?-Boehner and the Republicans HAVE NO PLAN of their own. Their only ‘plan’ is to have Obama come up with something they want. -They ‘want’ to cut Medicare, but where? Oh, just turn it into state grants and let the states decide where to cut.-Where to cut SS? Well, the president just needs to provide leadership and decide where the cuts will be.-Cut defense spending? OMG, there is no waste fraud or abuse there, that we can see.-I will give Boehner credit for one thing: he is steadfast in protecting the interests of Koch Industries, Bain Capital, and the other ‘small’ businesses.

‘So funny how the tea baggers killed Crybaby Boehner’s Plan BS. ’-It’s good to remember that the Tea Party is NOT a grass roots movement. It is very well financed, secretly, which is common for various Koch fronts.

When Reagan and Bush II were elected, we were told elections have consequences. Just like deficits don’t matter, Republicans ignore inconvenient “truths”, or who made the comments.

“because next year people with jobs will be forced into giving so much more of their income to the government.”…So you think it is OK for people without jobs to keep a higher part of their income than working people? People who inherit their money or whose income is from cpital gains? People like Romney?
