Maybe it is because that is the shape your arms make when you are giving someone a hug?

Because that’s the shape of the letter Mrs Claus makes when she’s hugging Mr Claus.

The “O” actually is shorthand for the classically shaped pizza.XOXOXO = kiss, pizza, kiss, pizza, kiss, pizza…. a very pleasant combination depending on who you are sharing your pizza with.

You must be hugging some really skinny people to cross your arms in an X. Like I said earlier about Mrs Claus hugging the Mr, it’s a big round circle when you’re hugging a big round person.

The story I remember- the heads where carved upside down and then ‘jacked’ up 1 inch at a time until they tilted over the quarry edge and slid into place on the hillside.

O came from Jews not wanting to sign a cross for their signature, so they signed with an O.
