There was a recent article called, “Obama is not a very forgiving president”. It noted that Obama has pardoned fewer individuals during his time in office than any other president during the same amount of time. Found it interesting.This cartoon seems to be a jab at the tendency of Rupert Murdoch’s group to “shoot from the lip” at the whatever will create the most controversy. Jon Stewart once described Fox News as a lobbying agency working on behalf of the Murdoch agenda. Mr. Murdoch, a man whose own biography warrants attention, has an agenda that is not “Republican”, but is one through which he can achieve by using Republicans. I like Chris Wallace, and I have seen stories on Fox I haven’t seen on other channels that I felt needed to be told. However, I do not consider Fox to be fair or balanced. That said, I know several people whose commitment to community church and people is a marker I will never reach.They are people I look to and say, I wish I was more like them. They believe Bill O’Reilly is the only source of news worth listening to. They are educated. They had active careers and have been amaizing people of quality and character all of heir lives. I do not compare to these people, but I am proud to know them. I just won’t watch the news with them, or they with me, if we can help it.Respectfully,C.
This just in from the Fox ‘News’ desk: ‘Gobble Gobble Gobble’ is, in fact, a secret mantra, if listened to long enough will cause the hearer to have an irresistible urge to have gay sex. By putting this turkey on the television the lamestream leftist media and the democratic party is trying to turn us all gay. The only known antidote is to polish up your American flag lapel pin while listening to Newt Gingrich or Donald Trump..
The day Chris Wallace taps on the knee of George W. Bush, and ask with that smarmy smile: “Why didn’t you do more to stop bin Ladin?” (as he did to Bill Clinton) is the day I will consider Fox News to be fair and balanced. Let’s all hold our breath…..
DrCanuck: I agree about Shep Smith. I stayed up on election night to watch the results. All the networks, including Fox had called it for Obama by 11:30. At about 12:30 Shep Smith was explaining that the protocol was for the loser to make a phone call, then a concessions speech and then the winner would make a victory speech. Smith seemed downright peeved that Romney had still given no indication that he was going to concede.
Smith and a few others seem to try to be real journalists, but they are completely overshadowed by Hannity, O’Reilly, et al.
Shepherd Smith is the only one on Fox with even the slightest grain of integrity, or journalistic bent, and the only one I can stand to watch for over 12.8 seconds. I truly believe he only stays with the network because he feels that at least for a few seconds a day, the folks tuning into the network deserve a moment of actual news.
Perhaps you were too young at the time. Nixon was in deep doo-doo. Burglary, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, evidence-tampering…the list goes on. He resigned to avoid impeachment, but this did not give him impunity from prosecution. Gerald Ford pardoned him, because he “had suffered enough”. Also, I’m sure he didn’t want the circus that would certainly follow to get started. For instance, assuming he would be found guilty, which he undoubtedly was, where would you send him?
I am sure that’s why Mr. Ford, a genuine nice guy, and a decent president, was a one-term president. Many, including myself, felt Nixon had not suffered enough, and voted against him for that reason only. I will admit to that myself, and now that I am not a young hothead, I wonder what would have happened had Mr. Ford been given a second term instead of sending Mr. Carter to Washington.

The “enemies list” and blacklisting was so prevalent in those days, in order to keep my family fed, I ended up in Canada – with a V-A draft card in my pocket!
