Welcome to New Jersey, Christie Governor. It felt weird, sweaty, soft, but firm, warm. It was the first time in 4 years Obama had reached out to shake a republican hand.
That is in essence a blatant lie, because every time he reaches out, they pull their hands back, and do something else to shaft his plans. REmember, the only, single, objective of Boehner and McConnell and the Republicans since January, 2009 was to make sure he didn’t get a second term.
Christie just finally saw the real issues, and the real man, and said, “OOPS! HE IS THE REAL THING!”
You mean, other than offering them cabinet posts. And trying to help the country but getting no help from them. Shame on you for helping the GOP campaign through outright lies.
Good reason to tread lightly about that—Issa and repugs have outed CIA Libyan assets and that local CIA station with their document release—NOT an optimal result and one which Obama’s reticence sought to conceal. The politicization by the Republican Party of the tragic attack on the US consulate in Benghazi has been a security disaster for the United States.
You have a very favorable interpretation of a fluff media event. In America we call it a “dog and pony show.” Obama is an expert at that. His own party doesn’t vote for his budgets. He is down in history for being the only president to pass as big a package as Obama care without a single supporting vote from the other party. Then there was negotiations and planning will be on C-Span for all to see. Try again Morty.
Mikefive: just a note: I was responding here to Payne’s comment, not Christie. In other posts I DID congratulate both Christie AND Obama, for working together for the people. It is that Payne doesn’t recognize this is, that is “sad”.
Its the first time in four years a republican reached out a hand to Obama, and its only because they needed government help from FEMA which they want to destroy..This just in, another liberal who can’t read. Where do you get these preposterous ideas?
Ansonia, I think that anybody that reaches across the aisle will be ridiculed, by Rush or Roger Ailes. I did listen to the Rush soundbite. Rush is upset that Christie gave Obama any credit at all, especially when Romney is taking credit for his ability to work with Democrats in Massachussetts. …………………http://www.ibtimes.com/limbaugh-gov-christie-has-man-love-president-obama-video-858246
Henry! that is such BS! The GOP rebuffed every overture that Obama made. Shame on you Henry, that is the opposite of what has happened in the last 3 years.
Nothing seems to upset a conservative more than one of their own departing from the party line. it is a level of intellect they are unable to comprehend. They see it as a traitorous act and the disobedient one must pay with ridicule and scorn. Talk radio makes them the object of derision. Recent examples being Governor Christie, Mayor Bloomberg, and Colonel Powell. Notice how it is the intelligent ones that double cross them.

And watch as they eat their own. Already Rush has accused Christie of “man love” for Obama.
