As a father of daughters, the brother to sisters, and the uncle to nieces, i’m totally with the women on this one as I am on most issues involving their right to make individual choices about their lives and future. One issue voters, from both sides, are dividing this nation and the media and our political leaders are driving the wedge home. Our nation is facing huge challenges. If it was just one challenge at a time, it might not be so bad, but Americans are facing a tidal wave of bad options if we don’t start working together and dealing with what’s important. Are you going to help stack sandbags on the shoreline to keep the water from drowning us, or are you going to let men with an agenda distract you until it’s too late. There will come a day, and it may not be that far in the future, when we will look back at this time and say, if only we had done something then.Good night Gracie.sadly,C.

The ACTUAL QUOTE:“And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”-Richard MourdockHis apology was insufficient and wasn’t even an apology:“God creates life, and that was my point. God does not want rape, and by no means was I suggesting that he does. Rape is a horrible thing, and for anyone to twist my words otherwise is absurd and sick.”TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!Romney distanced himself, but still supports him.SHOW SOME INTEGRITY AND BACKBONE!

Women’s economic empowerment is almost perfectly aligned with the advent of and increasing access to birth control of all kinds. To women, this isn’t a fringe issue but a giant economic one..To those women who consider their own fetuses to be the equivalent of a born person, no one is ever or will ever force them into abortion..To those men who think they should control women’s reproduction, you will become an artifact in short order. (You already are.)

Until you are faced with an unwanted pregnancy, you have no idea what goes into the considerations of its future. If you’re male (which I am), STFU. I will give women credit for being better able to divine a rational policy regarding abortion; I do not have any confidence that men can do this properly.

I keep asking, how can any rational human being vote for these right wing whack jobs that HATE so much of the population? They are an offense to America.

Very good Scare Tactics. Can’t blame the Dems for trying to convince people this is what they really should be worried about. Who needs jobs and pay checks as long as we can all get free abortions!

The REAL issue isn’t really “rape”, “god’s will”, “eggs”, “fetus”, “criminal act”, or “personhood”, it’s whether people should vote for “idiots”.

Just how big are the numbers? There are millions of unborn babies being killed each year. How many abortions are the result of a convicted rapist or convicted incest? How many are because ‘I wanted a baby and now I have changed my mind’.or‘I wasn’t thinking- I just wanted to have fun’

The REAL, simple, FACT is this: “conservative Republicans” (mostly) want to TAKE AWAY RIGHTS FROM A CLASS OF REAL PERSONS, based on RELIGIOUS PRINCIPLES, in DIRECT VIOLATION of both the essence of the Declaration of Independence, AND the LAW of the Constitution of the United States of America.

The current “GOP” has for some time been for taking AWAY our rights, like in the “Patriot Act”, and NOT protecting our rights.

Then get it done in a different state. Who cares? I cant gamble or smoke wherever I want. Bush was pres for 8 years and nobody banned abortion. Romney isn’t going to ban it either so let’s get back to the real issues.

Last time I checked that Bible the right wing likes to thump says “nobody knows God’s will”. It doesn’t say “nobody EXCEPT US knows God’s will.”

I think a judge should decide on ‘life or death’ for a baby.

Considering that there are plenty of “adoptees” still in foster care, that doesn’t seem like a great option.

But, as usual, the GOP cares more about the fetus than about the child that is finally born. After that, they become the “irresponsible leeches” on society. Don’t expect any help from the GOP , kid.

It’s really hard to believe that any woman would vote for these “men”. The economic well-being of women has been proven to be directly tied to their ability to plan when and whether to bear a child.

Unfortunately, and obviously, there are plenty of women full of self-righteousness, who will support the medievalists. Heaven save us from the “righteous”.

Or how about“My husband’s a conservative Catholic, and believes birth control is a sin. I try to practice the ‘rhythm method,’ but when he comes home late and insists I fulfil my marital duties he hits me if I try to refuse. We already have six children, and neither my body nor our budget can handle any more. If he finds out I’m doing this he’ll beat me black and blue, but that’s better than the alternative. And don’t tell me I should divorce him, because I have nowhere else to go. Oh God, I’m not even 30…”

First my daughter was adopted thank you for not having a abortion. I am afraid if the demo get in my kid will not have a job. and if she does, they will be taking so many taxes out of her she would have less than the people on welfare that won’t work. (yes I know some people need it but a small %) Or if we keep letting illeagals in not just from mexico that will work for half pay or under the table she will have to work three jobs just to make ends meet. And why is it liberals vote for abortion but denounce the death penalty.

Which seems to be your way of saying that issues of sexual justice and freedom of choice don’t matter to women. Well, they DO matter, and if you were female, you’d realize this. Even most men can.

You show a faith in the uniformity of virtue among your coreligionists that I lack. If the Catholic Church itself had such faith, they could get rid of all the confessionals, as they would see no need for them.

Please don’t dump that orthodox Catholic crap on the rest of us. Our government is, and must not, be controlled by religious zealots. You have no right to impose your dogmas on the rest of the country, which enjoys freedom FROM religion as well as freedom OF religion.

“… evidence for a soul in a fertilized human egg…” Fair question.Somewhere between the time of fertilization and physical birth there is a stopping place. To me, guessing wrong is not an option. I do Not have an opinion on the Catholic Position. I am under the impression that fertilized eggs are lost naturally all the time and no one is at fault. Sometimes, we need a judge to consider the situation and provide direction.

“By the time that most women know that they are pregnant, by the various signs that their bodies give them, they are well into their pregnancy. The child is formed. This is why there is such a wide variety of pictures on the Internet which show abortion in such grisly detail — legs torn off, arms separated from bodies, heads crushed. Your argument about a 2 week old blastocyst is a red herring at best, a strawman with no reality to it.”

“Tiny perfect fingers” – yes.“Sophisticated brain and nervous system” – no.

Besides, there are methods and procedures available to terminate a pregnancy before a pregnancy is confirmed, such as RU486 and other “Morning After” pills. Very useful after a rape, or contraceptive failure, or, yes, even after a wild night of impaired judgment. Are you OK with those?

Once again, you are grossly misinformed!

The current version of the Hyde Amendment ONLY allows for the federal government to pay for an abortion to women that could not normally afford such an operation to take place ONLY in the case of incest or rape, or even more importantly in the case of a direct threat to the women’s life.

So, there is NO guarantee of a free federally paid for abortion by liberals, conservatives moderates, or anybody else for that matter!!
