I will never understand Americans’ use of the word “gotten” – why not use “received”, or “had”?
I never understand why the British dropped the proper ending from ‘gotten’, and I’m (originally) from the UK myself. We kept it in a few linguistic fossils, like ‘ill-gotten’
At least he wasn’t hitting the hard stuff, such as lens flare.
