It’s unusual for Mr. Payne to be this far off base. It’s true the auto companies could have restructured under bankruptcy had they been able to find banks willing to lend. It’s also true that hundreds of thousands of americans in companies that service the auto industry, from part makers to truck stops where trucks carrying cars and parts stop, would have lost jobs. Small businesses, which the political ads say are vital to the nation, would have gone under. And what would have happened to the pensions of all the people who had retired from the auto industry? I wish Obama did have a nose that long, then maybe he’d do more to get the offensive stench inaction out of the capital building and shame Pelosi and McConnall into doing the people’s business.Respectfully,C.
When Iacocca got a government bailout for Chrysler some time ago, the taxpayers got their money back, several times over, and the Republicans didn’t call it “socialist”, because THEY granted the loan! Now, we have to wait for both Chrysler and GM to fully come back, and the union workers at GM “took it in the shorts”, in exchange for stock options in the corporations. That isn’t like BAIN stepping in, ripping off pensions and value, and sending the companies they took over into deliberate bankruptcy to profit themselves and stockholders. Hmm, yep, Mitt DOES know a little about bankruptcy, that he profits from.
Well, now Romney has claimed “an Italian company” is going to stop production of all Jeeps in the U.S. and build them in China. Well, Chrysler, and American company (still) which builds Jeeps announced they plan to HIRE MORE people, IN THE U.S. , to continue to build the Jeep line here, and work on SELLING MORE to China!
Mitt’s advisors ARE pretty stupid, but he really should stop taking his advice, and making “grand announcements”, from bloggers that have even less a clue than himself.
The other big losses were the GM stockholders who had their hard earned money in GM stock and Obama to0ok it all and gave it to the unions. He never gave a dime to the stockholders or even allowed them to take their loss as a tax deduction. He ripped off everybody but his friends!

Robme and his top financial backer made millions off the bailout. Is that why Robme isn’t showing his 2009 tax returns?
