Some of those comments were deceptions/ misdirections/ lies. Some were goals for which a bipartisan government could have strove. Some are absolutely true, such as the Citizen’s United comment on which I focus here. This SCOTUS ruling not only allows US citizens to spend obscene quantities of money to put politicians, and in some states, judges, into positions of power those elected will owe to their donors. It also opens a dangerous door for foreign nationals, through their subsidiaries and possibly as private people, to influence our elections. Corporations are not people. They are a group of people motivated to make income. There are many people working for the corporation who will not want their efforts to create profit used to promote a, or ANY, candidate. Christmas bonuses, investments into infrastructure of the company, donations to charitable causes are being spent on divisive ads warning us of impending doom if we vote for…..We already have foriegn nationals coming here to have their babies who, by being born here, are US citizens. Those children are then taken back to their REAL nation and groomed for the day they can come back and vote in our elections. This, along with Citizen’s United, will erode control away from the people born and RAISED in the USA over the next two decades and is a real concern.Obama did say all of those things, but content and context can be so manipulated. We can’t change yesterday, but we can ROCK today and tomorrow. Let’s get the Band back together.Respectfully,C.

People who deal only in absolutes are more often than not, absolutely wrong. This forum does not permit a point by point debate on each comment quoted, but I stand by my initial statement that some of the comments the president said were ‘deceptions/lies; some were worthy goals a bipartisan government could have done, and some are taken out of context to the point of being deceptions/lies from the opposition. The Citizen’s United statement is, in my opinion absolutetly true for the reasons I posted above and in other related cartoons. And to Zoidknight, I was looking for the name of the Republican who, on one of the news outlets said, My idea of bipartisanship is when they vote our(the republican) way. When I did a search to find his name, I saw a long list of attacks on the very idea of bipartisanship and nearly all, at least four out of five, were from the Republican point of view. Once again, there are no absolutes here….both parties are as flawed as ‘74 :Pinto with an exploding gas tank. We’re the passengers and the guys in the front seat are drunk with power and lobbyist liquor.Respectfuly,C.

Romney isn’t the liar, but he certainly is a liar. Ramirez gets half a point today for his unintended half truth.

thank you, Scottpm….yes, Obama did say exactly the quoted words. Context and content were NOT “manipulated”….the spinners who defend Obama are using such arguments as the quote where Obama on the 2008 campaign trail promised to “cut the deficit in half”…..and he should be checked on the deficit on the DAY HE MADE THE PROMISE, but I read an article this a.m. where an Obama-oid measured the deficit on the day he was sworn in….when the deficit had climbed in FY 2009…and I believe Obama was promising on the last year Bush deficit of 2008 for his promise….nowhere near $1 trillion…. FY 2008 was $458.7 Billion.

Whenever a democrat lies, the lefties tell us it’s just “taken out of context” or they didn’t really mean what they said, or some other garbage.

Hypocrisy and dishonesty are the trademarks of the left.
