Val: What?
Holly: Only 7 more shopping days 'til Halloween.
Val: I already bought the candy and hid it.
Holly: Not CANDY. Costumes!!
Alix: You actually didn't hide it all that well.
CHOMP
Oh, for the days of taking an old sheet and cuttingtwo eye holes in it for a costume. Now the costumes do not take any creativity. Instead they are mass produced, copyright-linked, and more tha a little pornographic.
Apparently you have not been shopping for a girls’ Halloween costume lately. I went to Spirit Halloween and had to tell my kids that 2/3 of the costumes are off limits because of the micro-mini skirts and sexualized designs. My kids are not teenagers, they are ages 4 and 8. The teen and adult costumes are much worse.
I know. I don’t get the whole idea of “sexy” costumes either. However, I think that princesses will be popular for girls and superheroes and cartoon characters will be popular for boys again this year.

Looks like mom will have to buy more candy for Halloween.

She should hide it at her office.

At the office? With all those snooping, hungry coworkers? Only safe place would be the trunk of the car. If she’s the only one with a key.

Mom gets to swipe theirs.

Uh oh! Those kids are clever… They are outsmarting their mother into running to reveal the real place of the hidden candies…

I think it’s a ruse. Mom will jump up to check the stash. Busted.
