Sounds like our government in action. They won’t bail out the schools …even if that is where our real future is

Don’t know if anyone else is having the same problem which I am having. However, when I surf into Go Comics - all I see is a white page with a blue square in the middle and a question mark inside the square.

Plus a lot of OTHER great comics as well! So - obviously, the problem ONLY exists at the UCLICK page. Must be all of those supposed “new” “innovations!”

I’m not having any problems here but at a couple of my other sites I did.

One of my sisters is a teacher. Not only is it expected that they use some of their own money for supplies (unreimbursed by the school) but the school system won’t provide paper. The teachers have to hold fundraisers in order to BUY the paper needed FROM the school.

I teach. Job cuts put me at 18 hours per week. Have not paid income tax in two years. Hope someone is so the bailouts keep working. For the learning disabled, this is sarcasm.

most state lotteries were set up to help fund their schools, yet where is that money actually going? it sure hasn’t been as intended

We support some fundraisers, not others. (I am this year’s PFO Co President at out kid’s elementary school, and one of our BIGGEST challenges is having meaningful “valuable” fundraisers) Our biggest one last year was a Walk-a-thon. No silly overpriced “products” sold, almost everything donated, and dollar for dollar direct to the bottom line. We raised 20K.

Schools where I live just started last week and one lady I work with already has a case of chocolate covered almonds (the classic school fundraiser) for sale on her desk.

I’ve heard that schools were going through budget cuts, but this is silly.

Chocolate covered almonds always sell well, no matter what. Good economy - a treat; bad economy - food therapy! Especially in workplaces, especially in teachers’ break rooms!
