We used to buy Red Devil “Safe and Sane” fireworks from a roadside stand when we were kids.

Safe and Sane? They caused a lot of fires and emergency room visits.

They left out M-80s. They were the real popular ones when I was growing up.

Fireworks didn’t hurt my childhood. I still have my left eye

Every year my neighbors compete for longest and best fireworks display. With the state of the economy I wonder if it will happen this year.

They’ve been popping fireworks in my neighborhood for the last 2 weeks.

i have a scar to remind me about playing with firecrackers when i was about 10, but they can still be fun

Jor-El, obviously those visits to the hospital weren’t for you since you are, in fact, the Man of Steel, right?

JFri, technically Jor-El was the Man of Steel’s father (unless they’ve changed comic book history again since i stopped collecting) and was not invulnerable on Krypton.

Fireworks are fun. Just don’t take them for granted.

“Profound disappointment”? “Arrest”?

How about “dismemberment”, “face blown off” (granted, an improvement for some), “body burnt to a crisp” (probably NOT usually an improvement), or “starting of deadly brush fires”, just to name a few.

Well, at the very least - if nothing’s blown off, there’s “losing TV priviledges for a coupla weeks”……..

Was going to do fireworks on Saturday, but it rained :( I could definitely see both scenarios playing out though.
