Adam's coffee drinking songs. Today's ditty... "What Shall We Do With A Decaf Drinker?" (sung to the tune of "What shall we do with a drunken sailor?") What shall we do with a decaf drinker, what shall we do with a decaf drinker, what shall we do with a decaf drinker, early in the morning?

Never happen. Why?
Decaf drinkers sleep soundly and don’t wake up in the wee hours;
When the *do* wake up, they’re refreshed and don’t need a boost.
I don’t have anything aginst caffeiners, but it doesn’t affect me in the slightest and coffee upsets my stomach.

Same. Never affects me either but i did take vitamin B(1,6,12). Forgot which or it could have been all. Anways for me it was a great natural energizer when i was back in the States. Took on pill every morning that i felt too tired to go on.

You might not sleep as soundly if you knew what they had to chemically do to coffee to remove the caffeine from it. Why don’t you just drink tea instead? Or hot chocolate. Or, one of my personal favorites on a cold day where I don’t need the small dose of caffeine, hot lemonade :)

@GL: When I said that coffee upsets my stomach, I meant to imply “that’s why I don’t drink it”. Not only that, but even when I get to the part of the store where they have the fresh bulk coffee, the smell makes me feel queasy. I do drink both tea and hot chocolate with no ill effects, and keep some instant coffee on hand for guests, but they have to make it themselves.

I can respect someone who doesn’t drink coffee at all, but drinking decaf (shudder).

I don’t have a choice in coffee. I love the taste, but the caffeine plays havoc with my system because of taking a large amounts of meds every day, all day long. Tea is ok, but also limited, water above a certain amount causes extreme nausea. All other fluids limited to a few ounces for same reason. So decaff it is.

I dont like tea, coffee or hot chocolate but one of the local small restaurants,where I live that have this drink with milk,toffee, coffee and some sort of biscuit mixed in a blender with ice and its great!! I think its the only coffee I actually like!

It’s weird…caffeinated coffee works on me, but half-caff(half regular, half decaf) works better for some reason.

There was a place I used to go to every Sunday - it was in Oak Park IL - that had a hot chocolate made from white chocolate. It was creamier than regular cocoa; drinking it was like sipping a Lindor Truffle.

Runar: Oak Park, Ill - sounds as if you have spent time in my part of the country, not where I live now, but from babyhood to young adult.
I drink herbal teas. If you want help with nausea and unhappy systems, try peppermint tea. It’s recommended for that. You can also get peppermint capsules at health stores.
Stay sunny side up!

Isnt white chocolate just mainly cocoa butter?

Yes, that’s all it is, just fat, with none of chocolates benefits. I won’t eat it. If a recipe calls for white chocolate, I substitute dark.
