Is this policing work?
Why would you imagine that Afghanistan or Iraq is within your judicial jurisdiction where one has to be read their rights prior to arrest or interrogation? I’m going to assume the above rights being read are known as “Miranda rights” in the US or are they reading Afghani rights? Iraqi rights?
I recall “immunity from prosecution in Iraqi courts” for US forces, as well as for private “contractors”. Whose rights AND liabilities were waived then?
Tch, tch, tch. Hypocrites.
Can you understand why people accuse the US of acting like an imperial power?
If it’s a battlefield, where you have taken the “fight to the enemy”, and the war has been legitimised, the Geneva conventions apply. Actually, even in the illegitimate war, Geneva conventions apply.
Would anyone with an understanding of legal matters please step up and let me know?
^ Yes. I’m very impressed. That, unfortunately, is part of the image problem the US has. Need one say more?
To paraphrase a simliar demand often heard these days “When will the moderates rein in the extremists?”

And they thought Sarah Palin was nutty. This is why they call her dangerous: she knows them too well.
