As I always say: “Any year when Cheney/Bush and the Republicans aren’t running things is a good year. The year had many problems, most of them left over from last year, and most of the attempts to fix them were blocked by the Republicans who don’t care about the Country, they only care about getting back into power.
If you have a house, and a skunk comes in sprays all over the house, and you bring someone in to try to get rid of the smell, and they mention the skunk and you say, “Don’t try to blame it on the skunk!” You know what you are? Your a Republican!
Yeah, good luck with that. The GOP has no interest in cooperating with anyone even in the best interest in the country as a whole. It’s more welfare for the rich and screw everyone else. They get away with it because their legions of voters are so easily distracted, fooled, scared, and cowed into believing even the stupidest of lies. That group is WELL represented on these fora.
While the GOP are united in greed and self-interest, at least they are united. The Dems are so fractured, they can’t accomplish jack even though they have control of the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. They are their own worst enemy.

History will tell if it was a good or bad year. For now, it’s the past and that’s a sufficient reason to get rid of it…

Hopefully the new kid will get better cooperation this year and less infantile behavior from the “Greedy Old Party”, which has gone senile.
