Saleswoman: The handbag: Once, a modest black weight. Now, a loud, proud symbol of the excess burdens women must bear! The supplies...the remedies...modern women aren't afraid for the world to see the sacrifices we selflessly make to shoulder the caregiving of the universe!! Cathy: Why don't modern women just insist on clothes with a few pockets? Saleswoman: Where would we hide our stash of "thin mints"?

Nice to know the whole “woman’s clothes without pockets” issue wasn’t that new of an issue.

On a related, but totally different note, have you noticed mens watches are getting bigger and bigger? I mean really. Their gigantic.

Wow, that’s quite a statement about a bag. I’m a fan of carrying everything in my pockets, and fortunately my women’s jeans pockets are large enough for the essentials. As for the Thin Mints, I don’t have them long enough to “stash” them. And what kind of person would put them in a purse where they would get smashed? That should be a crime.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!

Men know; “No chocolates in pockets.”

The first purse looks like something the Queen carries around. Cathy has always been shown carrying an over the shoulder bag. We have seen her with big bags with stuff sticking out all over, but never seen her carry them. Pulling them along, yes! But not carrying them.

When I was a LOT younger, I used to carry around purses similar to p.2 (although not quite as big) because I just never knew what I might need whenever I was away from home (even for a short time). But once I got a little older and a bag that size became WAY too heavy to haul around even half-way comfortably anymore, I was able to pare it down to one the size of p.1. But over the last couple of years, I’ve finally managed to get all my “essentials” down to a much smaller and lighter cross-body bag instead. Talk about sweet freedom! :-D

One thin wallet in my left pocket contains everything I need when I go out – a little cash, id’s, and credit cards. The other pocket can carry my keys if needed. Chocolate does not last long enough to go into a stash – except for mint chocolate and that gets given away (peppermint and I do not get along well). Note I don’t list a phone. If I have my dumb phone with me it normally stays in the car as that is the only time I use it anyway. Sometimes it is good to be male and have pockets since we don’t have to worry about ‘lines’.
Another day to enjoy – so enjoy it.

I see college women walking around in leggings and a blouse. No pockets. They have a phone in one hand and a bottle of water in the other. How do they open doors? :)

I believe the keyword here is “excess”. However, if that excess space is being used to stash Thin Mints, bring it on—that’s my favorite girl scout cookie …
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.

I don’t eat Girl Scout cookies, so there’s no problem there. Again, I learned my lesson with one purse that I used as a book bag in college and my shoulder has never been the same. Came home to roost last year when I had foot surgery and thought I’d be able to scoot up stairs backwards using my arms. My shoulder said no, so we rented a lift.
