Seems to me that Calvin may have been looking to “improve” HIS vocabulary…trying to get new or different words out of his audience, since he was having them shout words out TO him….
What a wonderfully creative mind Bill Watterson has, and what a truly delightful comic strip he created. Our world is diminished since he stopped writing it.
