<< Montana Lady said: Where is Hobbes when you need him? >>
Good morning, Marg and everyone.
I’ve been sitting here waiting to pounce…
Nothing like keeping your priorities in line, Calvin.
G’Morning, Marg, Hobbes, Grog & Mike!
Such deep thoughts for so early in the morning….but it is a good day.
GM MARG and everyone
Calvin has a future for politics, huh!
My mother-in-law would say: ” Energy wasted in your mouth is better usedvin your hands, boy!”
Very deep thoughts! I will have to think it over!
I love Hobbes, he is so thoughtful!!
Calvin scares me. He is beginning sound like a typical Illinois politician.
Every life is precious, it’s just we all forget that sometimes!
I like Calvin’s perspective….but pity his future wife………..
Tomorrow (18 November 2010) is the 25th Anniversary of the first Calvin & Hobbes strip’s publication Time to go back and take a look at that first one and remember!
“conniption queen ” haha that cracks me up
I agree with Dino-1. All life has value. If it didn’t then God would not have created it.
that is why i am a veggie :)
It looks as if your mother-in-law paraphrased the saying (perhaps unintentionally), “Actions speak louder than words.”
Have a good day!

Thank you. That’s keeping things in perspective (hee hee hee).
Mister Ed (from yesterday),
Stop “horsing around”! Have a dream about starting to attend those classes! Then you’ll be ready for the next exam and the recurring nightmare will pass into history.
BTW, is this your first post?
**Good morning Marg!
Good morning Fran and Kizzzy!
Good Morning L’Wolf!
Good Morning Grog!**
What if ti was Marg’s life in the balance????????????
Hobbes would be more helpful, I think.
I meen Hobbes in the comic strip!
Today’s final frame made me think of a line from “A Christmas Carol:”
Will you decide what men shall live, what men shall die? It may be, that in the sight of Heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions like this poor man’s child
Let Calvin’s action be a lesson to all procrastinators, don’t put off work thinking it will all go away just put time in get it done so won’t look sloppy and hurried.
<< LX013 said: Hobbes! I mean Hobbes in the comic strip! >>
Yes, but if you use your imagination, like Calvin, it’s possible that you will discover that I really am Hobbes in the comic strip!
runar thanks! I have all the strips in my books, which I haven’t had time to read again of late. It was nice to see that one again!
Lives may not hang in the balance, but your grades certainly do, Calvin.
Good Morning, Marg, Mike & ♠Lonewolf♠.
In Ontario for the last several years, the government has decreed that teachers can’t penalize students in any way for handing in assignments late. Calvin would have loved living here! Procrastination is now official government policy!!
To echo Dry, thanks for the little C&H nugget runar.
Calvin sounds exactly like our politicians in Washington.
They do what they want when they want (and read it later), then call the citizenry unpatriotic when they express their outrage. Who cares if a few people die either; just implement the plan.
kreole - you really think Calvin will EVER get married? What a picture - HA HA HA!!!
one hopes, that before the citizenry begins to express their outrage, that they take the time to separate the truth, from the faux news. Still waiting for those death panels!
you certainly have the “Hobbes pounce” down pat :)
Calvin never seems to get what’s coming to him!!!
Kab Buch said, about 4 classes ago
Good point! I’ll think about it…tomorrow….
Hobbes, how often does Calvin listen to your voices of reason?
runar: really..? the 18th november 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of calvin and hobbes comic strips..??
wow..i am so delighted…18 november is my 23 birthday..hehe..
Calvin, I love you
grow up and marry me please
@bmonk, funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny :-)
“Judge not, lest ye be judged.” But, come on, Charles Manson’s life is as important as the Dalai Lama, for just one example? (Fill in your own admirable world figure.) Only as an existence not to aspire to.
@gofinsc, but maybe Charles Manson needs the additional time to figure it out and repent, while the Dalai Lama already has reached enlightenment.
Calvin the lawyer/politician with a penchant for utilitarianism. Boy, this kid is really getting scary….
“BTW, is this your first post?”
Yes, I believe it was.
From the theme song:
“Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say.”
GRIN I loved that show!
We didn’t demand perfection, but told our kids that they needed to get good enough grades to keep all doors open.
Maybe Calvin has been confronted with one of those lifeboat dilemma stories. Totally inappropriate for children this young, but some teachers have done it. And even though Calvin is said to be 6 years old, the strip is seldom on that level.
So long as one of those lives in the balance isn’t yours, eh, Calvin? (If you only knew how you’re forging your own chains, day by day…)
Calvin would make a very poor Vulcan. For him, the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the few… or the many.
Just get it DONE Calvin as you philophize.
♪♫♪♫♪♫ A horse is a horse ♪♫♪♫ of course of course … ♪♫♪♫
Just like Calvin, I’m going to post my comments late. It’s not like anyone’s life hangs in the balance if I’m late. Are there?

Only someone with a conscience who realizes and understands that he’s done something completely heinous and wrong (such as what he and his “followers” did) have the true capacity to repent their sins. To this very day, I’d be willing to bet my life on it that Charles Manson doesn’t believe for one minute that he did anything wrong and therefore, feels no guilt or shame for his actions that brought about the deaths of so many innocent people … including that of an unborn child. I’m sorry but for some things, there can be absolutely no forgiveness and I hope that he continues to live – and eventually die – in prison because I fear for the lives of anyone he’d come in contact with on the outside if he were to ever be released.
Thanks for the link, Runar. Now I am reading my books from the beginning once again. :^)
Good evening, everyone! Charles Manson and the Dalai Lama this late in the day???
Calvin certainly is getting by with his mouth, calling mom a conniption queen. Hobbes, it’s time to pounce on that child and put him IN the box…
Dry, how do you make those lovely notes…??
I remember MANY years ago having to make a garden diorama in a shoebox due the next day and i didn’t even HAVE the shoebox yet! I wasn’t a NERD yet. Boy! I know what he means by Conniption Queen!
bleeep … another budding democrat …
A little early to guess whether he’ll be president of the Universe - or a Shoe Box - but I could probably be convinced to vote for Hobbes …
on the left coast, obviously - hat tip to Marg -
they censor something that rhymes with yarn?
I guess what he meant was if Mose life depended on it or say Hobbes life .
Thats putting it out there little buddy.
Imagine that …
Hey, maybe I can be last!
No more posting d a r n it!
“Conniption queen”–ROFL. That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in a comic in a long time.
